A's Ballpark Construction June 2026: Steel Rising on the Las Vegas Strip

The future home of the Las Vegas Athletics is no longer just a hole in the ground — it's becoming one of the most visible construction projects on the Strip.

With the team already spending $400 million on the $2 billion project, the new Athletics ballpark is on budget and on time. Concrete work on the first two levels has been completed, steel work has progressed on the concourses, and work on the third and fourth seating levels is well underway.

The roof structure is one of the most talked-about milestones of the build. Earlier this month, crews lifted additional roof trusses to complete the first section of the massive retractable structure — a defining feature of what will be one of the most technologically advanced ballparks in Major League Baseball.

The stadium is projected to cost $2 billion and includes $380 million from taxpayers. It is expected to open in time for the 2028 season. The ballpark will seat up to 33,000 fans and will be located at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue.

For Las Vegas Athletics fans, every week brings new photos and progress. The structure is now visible from the MGM Grand parking deck — a sight that's becoming a daily ritual for locals watching their future team's home take shape.
